Guided by the wish to contribute actively to peace and to the preservation of shared values, the Municipality of the large village of Rácalmás and the joint municipality (Samtgemeinde) of Dransfeld in Germany agreed to establish and maintain a partnership based on friendship.

Within the scope of their possibilities and powers, the municipalities of Rácalmás and Dransfeld wish to contribute to maintaining and strengthening peace in Europe. Their citizens have recognised that, for the sake of life and the future, there is no acceptable political alternative to peaceful cooperation.

It is their express intention that the cooperation between the two municipalities be built by their citizens and social groups in a spirit of mutual trust.

The contracting parties agree as follows

  • They will hold a dialogue on all issues arising at municipal level, in the course of which citizens, representatives of the parties represented in the municipal councils and civic organisations will come into contact with one another.
  • They will exchange information and experience on the development of the municipalities and the work of the municipal bodies, and present the living and working conditions of citizens in both municipalities.
  • Both municipalities support cooperation between municipal institutions and social organisations, associations and federations. To this end, exchanges of views and meetings will take place between the citizens, workers, intellectual and cultural figures, women and young people of the two municipalities, mainly on municipal matters – for example working, housing and living conditions, town planning, urban development and environmental protection, culture, the arts and sport, educational opportunities and youth protection.
  • The specific measures for cooperation – the exchange of delegations and materials and the methods of implementation – will be set out in an annual plan.
