Accessibility statement

How our website meets the accessibility requirements, what is not yet accessible, and whom to contact if you encounter a barrier.

Compliance

Scope of this statement

The Municipality of Rácalmás is committed to making its website accessible in accordance with Act LXXV of 2018 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies.

This accessibility statement applies to the website of the Municipality of Rácalmás (Hungarian, English and German versions).

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with Act LXXV of 2018 and with the standard MSZ EN 301 549 “Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services” (WCAG 2.1 level AA). The website interface was built to the stricter WCAG 2.2 level AA; the exceptions are listed under “Non-accessible content” below.

Known limitations

Non-accessible content

The content listed below is not accessible for the following reasons.

Non-compliance with Act LXXV of 2018

  • Scanned documents. Among the annexes to local decrees, council documents, public notices and issues of the Rácalmás newspaper there are scanned PDF files without a text layer, which screen readers cannot read. We will provide an accessible version on request (see Feedback and contact information).
  • Videos. The Rácalmás TV programmes published on YouTube have no captions, transcripts or audio description.
  • Posters and image-based notices. Some posters in the event calendar and some images in news items taken over from the previous website are images of text; the essential details (title, date, venue) are also given as text, but not the full text of the images.
  • Descriptions of imported news images. For images in news items taken over from the previous website, the text alternative is in some cases only the title of the article and does not describe the image.

Disproportionate burden

We do not claim a disproportionate burden.

Content outside the scope of the applicable legislation

  • Office file formats (PDF, DOC, XLS) published before 23 September 2018, unless they are needed for active administrative processes.
  • Pre-recorded time-based media published before 23 September 2020 (archived videos).
  • Third-party content that is neither funded nor controlled by us (for example the embedded YouTube player, the Facebook page and notices supplied by external organisations).
  • Online maps: all information on the points of the illustrated map (name, description, picture) is also provided as text in the keyboard-operable list next to the map.
Using this website

Accessibility features

  • Skip to main content: the link that appears when you first press Tab after the page loads lets you skip the menu.
  • Keyboard use: every function can be operated with the keyboard. Tab / Shift+Tab: move; Enter: open; in the main menu’s submenus the ↓ and ↑ arrows move between items and Esc closes. The search can also be opened with Ctrl+K.
  • Illustrated map: once the map has focus, the arrow keys move it, + and − zoom, and 0 shows the whole map; the list of points is also available next to the map.
  • Accessibility settings (top bar; on mobile, the icon in the header): text size from 90% to 200%, high contrast, negative contrast, underlined links, a more readable font. Your choice is remembered by the browser.
  • Browser zoom: the website can be used up to 400% browser zoom without horizontal scrolling.
  • Reduced motion: if reduced motion is enabled in your operating system, the website switches off its animations.
  • Languages: the English and German versions are available from the top bar, or from the menu on mobile; content available in Hungarian only is marked as such.
Method

Preparation of this accessibility statement

This statement was prepared on 15 October 2026.

This statement is based on a self-assessment of the website: the WCAG 2.2 level AA success criteria were checked with automated structural tests (headings, text alternatives, form labels, language markup, colour contrast) and manual testing (keyboard navigation, 200% text size, 400% zoom, high contrast, mobile view).

The statement was last reviewed on 15 October 2026. It is reviewed every year and whenever the website is substantially changed.
